Gunfire wounds 1 in city’s West End

A Washington County 911 supervisor confirmed a report of shots fired on Fayette Street at 1:23 p.m. Friday in Washington. City police said one person was in the hospital.

Chief Robert Wilson said police are “still piecing together” what happened and declined further comment, beyond describing the victim as a juvenile female.
