Boating charges: Two boaters were charged by the state Fish and Boat Commission with operating a boat under the influence in early July. Jason A. Detrick, 21, of 24 Penn Ave., Clarksville, also was cited for boating regulations summary offenses after he allegedly was operating a boat during a fireworks event late July 1 on the Monongahela River near Ten Mile Creek in Jefferson Township. Police said he was going too fast in a “no wake” zone with five other people in the boat. His blood-alcohol content was 0.11 percent, according to the criminal complaint. Brian M. Wright, 36, of 4725 Lougean Ave., Pittsburgh, was charged the following night, July 2, with operating a boat too fast in the same location without a visible stern light. He allegedly had a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent. Wright also was cited for three boating regulations summary offenses.
