Warrant arrest: Denzell Darshal Johnson, 20, of Donora, was taken into custody Saturday night by California police on several outstanding warrants after he reportedly was seen drinking an alcoholic beverage near Third and Wood streets. Johnson was placed in Washington County jail on the warrants. Borough police will charge him with underage drinking and violating the borough ordinance against drinking in public.

Mail stolen: Kimberly Sue Nopweskey of 520 Blaine Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday mail was stolen from her mailbox.

Attempted burglary: Tyler Filby of 125 Barnickel St., Meadow Lands, told Chartiers police Thursday an attempt was made to break into his home. A basement window was broken, and an attempt was made to force open the basement door.

Drug arrest: Carlie Marie Dudich, 25, of 448 Wisconsin St., Monongahela, was arrested on drug charges Thursday night during a traffic stop on East Main Street. Dudich, who has a suspended license, was stopped by Monongahela police. Police said they found suspected heroin, Xanex and Ecstasy hidden in her crotch. She was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. She was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Four injured: Four people, including two children, received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash Thursday on Interstate 70 eastbound at the Dunningsville exit, Somerset. State police said a van driven by Malynda Snyder, 41, of Dayton, Ohio, was stopped when she was hit from behind by a car driven by Sheila Yarbrough, 64, of Tiltonsville, Ohio. The two drivers were slightly injured, as were two children in Snyder’s van.

Assault alleged: Flora Byrd, 64, of 1195 Sycamore St., told Washington police her 66-year-old husband threw a coffee cup at her, hitting her in the arm during a confrontation Thursday. He was taken into custody for arraignment on a charge of simple assault, but police said officials at Washington County jail would not accept him because of his level of intoxication. Police took him to a relative’s home.

Woman assaulted: Laura Vincenti, 42, of Washington, told Washington police she was assaulted by a man early Friday. Police found her in a vacant lot, bleeding from a head injury about 2:20 a.m. She was taken to Washington Hospital but walked out before she was treated. Charges are pending.

Mower stolen: Dan McKinley of Washington told Washington police Thursday his lawn mower was stolen from his parents’ yard at 8 Bell Ave.
