Washington woman charged with making threats
A Washington woman faces charges after she allegedly threatened the father of her child with a knife Saturday.
Washington police said Jalea M. Wade, 23, of 945 Broad St., went to 61 Burton Ave. at about 3:40 p.m. with her sister, Amber Sheets, and got into a dispute with Kawan Wright over custody of their daughter. Wade told Wright that “she would kill for her daugher and laugh about it the whole time,” according to the criminal complaint, then asked Sheets to give her a knife.
Sheets allegedly handed her a knife and Wade threatened Wright, telling him “this knife is for you,” before putting it into her car as police arrived. Police found the knife in the car.
Wade was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct and released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
