BELLE VERNON – A state trooper claims he was bitten by an Allegheny County man late Saturday during a traffic stop in Rostraver Township.

Police charged Kevin S. Shanaberger, 25, of 1011 First St., Jefferson Hills, with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following the stop along Route 51 near Interstate 70, court records show.

Trooper Adam Janosko told an investigator Shanaberger bit him in the right forearm while he attempted to gain control of the man, who had been banging his head on the window of a cruiser while he was in its back seat.

District Judge Michael R. Mahady released Shanaberger on unsecured bond Sunday.
