Worker’s leg partially amputated in accident at Morgan well pad
MATER – A worker was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh Wednesday after his leg was partially amputated in an industrial accident at a well pad in Morgan Township, a Jefferson Township firefighter said.
Jefferson Township firefighters and EMS members responded to the call of a man whose leg was trapped at the Christen well pad on Bacon Run Road near Mather about 11:30 a.m. A Jefferson firefighter said the man’s leg was partially amputated.
The man, who is in his mid-40s, was taken by ambulance to the helicopter landing pad next to the Morgan Township Municipal Building in Mather. His name and condition were unknown.
Chris Robinson, area director for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Pittsburgh, said the agency was aware of the accident and investigating it further, but had no additional details as of Wednesday afternoon.
