WANB’s Doug Wilson to be ‘roasted’ Aug. 4
Doug Wilson, the “voice of Greene County” who is celebrating 25 years with WANB-Radio in Waynesburg, will be “roasted” next month to raise money for two local charities.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 4 at Waynesburg University’s Benedum Dining Hall and will include a reception with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a buffet dinner and program at 7.
The program, which will be hosted by Wilson’s friend and stand-up comedian Randy Riggle, will feature light-hearted jokes about Wilson by various people.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Greene County Historical Society and the Greene County United Way.
The audience is encouraged to wear 1950s attire for the family-friendly event. A 1967 Ford Mustang will be on display outside the dinning hall.
The Greene County Chamber of Commerce is handling reservations, along with the venue and meal planning. Riggle is organizing the event.
Reservations can be made by calling the chamber office at 724-627-5926 or 724-998-2386 or emailing info@greenechamber.org.
Cost is $25 for those 12 and older and $7 for children younger than 12. Children younger than 5 are free.
