McGuffey set to graduate 144 today
McGuffey High School will hold commencement exercises at 7 p.m. today for 144 seniors in the high school’s gymnasium.
The top three students in the class are Sean Patrick Edlis, Anja Eshbaugh and Rielly James Steuernagel.
Edlis, son of Roy and Beth Edlis of Claysville, is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. He received the Rotary Club Scholarship and is a member of the gifted program and the boys basketball, cross country and track and field teams. Edlis plans to attend Penn State Behrend to pursue a degree in plastics engineering.
Eshbaugh, daughter of Natasha and Keith Eshbaugh of West Alexander, is the historian of National Honor Society and vice president of the Math Team. She received the John Phillip Sousa Scholarship, the Melissa Nardi Scholarship, the County Envirothon Scholarship, the Mathematics Scholarship and the Perfect Attendance Award. Eshbaugh plans to attend Ohio University and is currently undecided on a major.
Steuernagel, son of Tiffany Prem and James Steuernagel of Washington, is the class president, member of the National Honor Society, president of the Spanish Club and vice president of the Spanish Honor Society. He received the Olivia Scott Foundation Scholarship and the Allegheny College Trustee Scholarship, Steuernagel plans to attend Allegheny College to pursue degrees in chemistry and theater.
