HARRISBURG (AP) – A Maryland man who exposed himself to a female room service attendant at a Pennsylvania hotel, then gave the woman a $5 tip for her trouble, has been convicted of indecent exposure.

A Dauphin County judge on Wednesday also fined 39-year-old Jeffrey Hubbard $50 and sentenced him to one month probation.

The Aberdeen man contested the charges which stemmed from his stay at the Hershey Lodge on Dec. 27, 2015.

He argued that his pants-less greeting wasn’t indecent exposure because it didn’t occur in a sufficiently “public” place.

But prosecutors say Hubbard knew that exposing himself when he answered the door was likely to alarm whoever was there. Prosecutors say Hubbard gave the attendant $5 for “having to see this” as he stood exposed before her.
