BEAVER – Jurors resume deliberations Monday in the retrial of a Western Pennsylvania man charged in the 2012 slaying of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

Thirty-one-year-old Marlin “Twin” Kelly is charged in Beaver County in the October 2012 shooting deaths of 19-year-old Conekeia Lynn “Coco” Finney and her unborn daughter.

Prosecutors allege Finney and another man went to an Ambridge apartment to rob the boyfriend of Finney, who was about seven months pregnant. He was convicted and sentenced to life but was granted a new trial last year.

Defense attorney Stephen Colafella told jurors his client “didn’t kill anybody” and hadn’t agreed to commit robbery, an essential element of a second-degree murder conviction.

His co-defendant pleaded guilty to homicide and was sentenced to 13 to 30 years.
