Greene County Regional Police Department confiscated drugs, paraphernalia and guns from a Mt. Morris home after serving a search warrant Thursday night.

A Mt. Morris man is facing multiple drug charges following a Thursday night raid by the newly formed Greene County Regional Police Department.

Police found suspected heroin, methamphetamine, a half-pound of marijuana, a variety of pills, drug paraphernalia and nearly $12,000 in cash at the home of Adam Glenn White, 32, of 787 Big Shannon Run Road.

“We’re not talking about a Pittsburgh-sized, or a big city bust, but for Greene County, it was a pretty big bust,” Greene Regional police Chief Michael Natale said.

Police, assisted by Greene County Sheriff’s deputies and a Masontown Police K9 unit, served a search warrant at the house around 9 p.m. They found the marijuana in individual, vacuum sealed packages. In a safe in a closet of the house, they also found a large bag of marijuana, a box of cash containing $11,993, and a box of suspected tar heroin, which is a sticky substance that hasn’t been processed into powder yet or ready for consumption. Police said they found several pills in bottles, tins and baggies.

“We’ve got a pharmacy down here,” Natale said about the evidence they collected.

They found a cash money-counter and several bags and containers “strewn about the house,” the criminal complaint said.

Natale said they also found four rifles, one shotgun and six handguns with a large cache of ammunition. He said that so far, they only know of one of the guns being reported stolen.

Natale said White has a felony on his criminal record, so he is forbidden from owning or possessing any firearms.

Natale said that since they are a small department, they were “overwhelmed” by all the evidence that was collected from the scene. The criminal complaint said that the evidence filled the back of the sheriff’s SUV, as well as the trunks of two police cars.

White was charged with one count each of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Natale said more charges, including weapons charges, will most likely be filed against White once all of the evidence is processed.

“He’s certainly the big dealer for the Mt. Morris area, but he’s probably getting his supplies from larger cities in the area,” Natale said. “You might see a temporary slowdown in drug-related crime, but people will be going elsewhere to get their drugs and it’s only a matter of time before someone else steps up to fill the need.”

Natale said White has been on their radar since the beginning of the year, when the police department began patrolling in Morris, Wayne and Perry townships. The department formerly was known as the Morris Township Police Department.

“We were aware from day one through rumors, local residents and confidential informants reporting to us – many different sources led us to be aware of this guy, who had been operating for years,” Natale said. “We made it a priority pretty much as soon as we started.”

White was arraigned by District Judge Lee Watson at 10 a.m. Friday and released on $50,000 unsecured bond. A woman who was at the residence at the time of the raid was not charged.
