Police Beat March 14
Man arraigned: Matthew R. Chacko, 38, of 130 Factory St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with two counts of drug possession and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. The charges stem from a spot check by Washington County probation officers that allegedly found him in possession of 10 stamp bags of heroin and pain and anxiety medications about 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Chacko, who had been in Washington County jail on a probation violation since Friday, had his bond set at $10,000 Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Assault alleged: Quincey Todd Morgan-Rush, 30, of Carlton Street, Pittsburgh, is charged by city police with simple assault over allegations he struck and choked his girlfriend, Nicole Porter, and also caused cuts to her hands at 631 Park Ave. about 8:40 a.m. Saturday, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant Monday for Morgan-Rush’s arrest.
Drug arrest: Christopher Michael Cook, 20, of 1110 Candor Road, Bulger, was arrested early Saturday by Mt. Pleasant police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and traffic violations following a traffic stop on Fort Cherry Road. Cook was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Three-vehicle crash: Four people were slightly injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash about noon Thursday on Franklin Farms Road near West Chestnut Street. Police said Christino Perez, 27, of Houston, Texas, stopped to allow another vehicle to turn when his vehicle was hit from behind. North Franklin police identified the other drivers as Lyndsay Dicks, 22, of 257 Park Ave., Washington, and Jacqueline Mock, 32, of 770 Buena Vista St., Washington. Dicks and Mock were injured, as were John Marconi, 74, also of 770 Buena Vista, who was a passenger in Mock’s vehicle, and Lauren Stucker, 24, of 310 McClay Road, Washington, who was a passenger in Perez’s vehicle.
Two jailed: Shawn Lee Hartzog, 42, of 193 Marra Ave., Washington, and Ashley Lynn Loar, 26, of 719 Wayne St., Washington, were taken into custody Tuesday by North Franklin police on probation detainers after Hartzog allegedly stole a chain saw from Sears, Washington Crown Center. He will be charged later with theft, police said.
One injured: One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Washington Road (Route 19) at Lindley Road. North Strabane police said Jesse Lesko, 20,of 138 ½ Chartiers St., Strabane, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Brittany Marie Devinney, 19, of 409 Green St., Brownsville. A passenger in Devinney’s vehicle, Keshawn Gregory-Harris, 20, of Uniontown, was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
Teen charged: Blaze William Kansco, 18, of 619 McNary St., Canonsburg, will be charged by North Strabane police with underage drinking and retail theft after he allegedly was spotted by an officer stealing items from Sheetz, 2401 Washington Road, Saturday.
DUI, drug arrest: Police charged a Bethel Park resident with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, following a March 13 traffic stop. Shortly after midnight, Nicholas Edward Patton, 20, was stopped in the 300 block of East McMurray Road, and after the officer detected the odor of marijuana, a search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia, according to police.
Pair charged: Terry Lee Workman Jr., 37, and Nicole Marie Ancarana, 22, both of 308 Route 88, Elco, are charged by township police with receiving stolen property over allegations they sold a stolen generator to Gem’s Quick Cash, 806 Broad Ave., about 4:10 p.m. Feb. 20, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the cases by summons Monday.
Man jailed: Robert Joseph Kopanic Jr., 49, who is homeless, is charged by township police with trespassing over allegations he entered a residence in the 400 block of Gallitin Road, drank alcohol and passed out on the floor without the owner’s permission about 6 p.m. March 8, court records show. He is in Westmoreland County jail on $5,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Charles Christner.
Apartment burglarized: Morgan Mills of 725 Addison St. told Washington police Sunday a Playstation 4, Ruger pistol and television were stolen when his apartment was burglarized.
Money stolen: Corey Moore of Washington told Washington police Saturday $40 was stolen from the cupholder of his vehicle by a woman he gave a ride to on South Main Street. He did not know the woman’s name but said she was white, wore a gray T-shirt and had brown hair.
Warrant arrests: Jamar Comedy, 28, of New Castle, and Ruschell Stone, 33, of 156 Jeanne St., Washington, were placed in Washington County jail on probation bench warrants after a traffic stop off Burton Avenue Saturday, Washington police said. Comedy also faces several traffic violations.
Heroin possession charge: Paul Phillips, 31, of 60 S. Wade Ave., Washington, was charged Monday by Washington police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia and public drunkenness stemming from an incident Saturday at Walgreens on Jefferson Avenue. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redligner.
Marijuana possession: Amy Lynn Davies, 22, of 285 Country Club Road, Washington, was charged Monday by Washington police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after a traffic stop Saturday on North Main Street at Seminole Avenue. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Assault alleged: Adam Richard Rattay, 24, of 203 Railroad St., Webster, is charged by Rostraver Township police with simple assault and reckless endangerment over allegations he struck Robert Heckman multiple times in the face, sending him to Mon Valley Hospital for treatment, at Rattay’s residence about 4:10 a.m. Feb. 26, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Monday.
