Police: Mt. Morris woman stabs boyfriend seven times
A 31-year-old Mt. Morris woman is in jail after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend seven times early Sunday morning, causing one of his lungs to collapse.
Police said Christina Larea Lorenz of 344 Mt. Morris Road argued with her boyfriend, Tyler Spacht, after they returned from a bar just before 1 a.m. Lorenz told police she was acting in self-defense when she stabbed him with a knife seven times in his arm and upper left torso.
According to the criminal complaint, Lorenz claimed Spacht grabbed her, threw her against a wall, held a knife to her throat and threatened her with a gun before pinning her down and sexually assaulting her.
Spacht, who was taken by ambulance to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., told police a different story when they interviewed him at the hospital later that morning. He said their argument, which was about him wanting her to leave the residence, led to her stabbing him with a knife she had been holding, the complaint said.
“Spacht explained he grabbed Lorenz’s arms and got stabbed a few more times, and dropped to his knees, causing both of them to fall to the floor,” the complaint said.
Police said Spacht got the knife away from her. He told police before Lorenz fled, she called 911 and told the dispatcher he pulled a gun on her.
Police said Lorenz was back at the home when they arrived. She was first taken to WHS-Greene hospital because she “claimed she had sustained some female issues and needed medical attention.” Police said she had two small bruises on her shins and also complained of shoulder pain.
Police said that when they searched the house, the knife was found, but no firearm was recovered from within or around the residence.
Lorenz was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. She is being held at the Greene County jail on $25,000 bond, and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. March 22.
Spacht was not charged. The hospital listed him in good condition Monday.
