Plate stolen: The registration plate was stolen from a trailer parked at 274 Stoney Hill Road, Greensboro, on Feb. 1 or Feb. 2, state police said.

Theft: Richard G. Dunfee III, 33, whose address is listed as the Washington County jail, was charged by state police Monday with theft for allegedly stealing the wallet of a Rices Landing woman who let him into her home at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 6, after he came to her door and told her he had run out of gas. The woman told police she made Dunfee a cup of coffee, and he had used the bathroom. She discovered the wallet missing the next day. Charges were filed Monday with District Judge Glenn Bates.
