Man arraigned on weapons charges
A Marianna man was arraigned this week on weapons charges after he allegedly sold two guns to a suspected drug dealer.
Ricky Dale Litton, 35, of 7 Fulton St., was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of illegal sale or transfer of firearms and prohibitions on loaning or lending firearms.
Litton is accused of selling a rifle and handgun to Michael A. Martin, 34, of Philadelphia. Litton allegedly sold the guns to Martin despite knowing the Philadelphia man was a convicted felon. Court records show Martin was sentenced to 7 ½ to 15 years in prison after he was found guilty on charges including aggravated assault, possession of drugs and weapons violations filed by Philadelphia police in 2005.
Martin was one of three people taken into custody after a Dec. 8 raid by state police at 2430 Martindale Road, Deemston. Police said they seized drugs including fentanyl and crack. Martin was charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Litton was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled for a March 29 preliminary hearing before Thompson. Martin’s next scheduled court appearance is his formal arraignment April 21. He remains in Washington County jail on $250,000 bond.
