Man stabbed during dispute
A Washington man was stabbed in the left hand as he tried to stop his girlfriend’s former boyfriend from assaulting her Wednesday night, city police said.
Police said Austin Hamilton, 22, was stabbed in his left hand when he went after the man. The three, along with two others, were at Hamilton’s home on Lower Prospect Avenue, police said.
Hamilton’s alleged attacker punched the woman during an argument, police said. When Hamilton tried to stop him, the other man allegedly pulled out a knife with a black handle and stabbed him. Two witnesses pulled the men apart, and the alleged attacker left the house. Police looked for him in the area but were not able to locate him.
Hamilton was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
