Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania announced a gas pipeline replacement project that will begin in late March.

The company plans to replace 4,510 feet of underground pipe. The work will affect customers along Allison, East Wylie, Henderson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Maple, McAdam, Summerlea and Wellington avenues.

Work is expected to last through late fall, weather permitting, and will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with temporary lane restrictions during working hours.

The construction work will require a temporary interruption of natural gas service for individual customers while their service is transferred to the new pipe.

Columbia Gas will personally contact these customers prior to shutting off service and to schedule service restoration.

Customers with indoor meters also will have their meters relocated to the outside of the premises. This work will be completed at no additional cost to customers.
