Police Beat March 23
Theft arrest: Tynan Andrew Noakes, 23, of 819 Davidson Road, Grindstone, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday. State police charged him with theft for allegedly stealing $165 from the Sunoco at 800 Main St. in Bentleyville while working there in May. He allegedly told management he would repay the money but never did. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $1,500 bond.
Girlfriend arrested: Kerrigan Marie Rothka, 21, of 623 Valley View Terrace, was arrested by Canonsburg police about noon Tuesday for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend at their home during an argument over car keys. Police said he had scratches, red marks and a swollen cheek. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of simple assault and harassment. Rothka was released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Station burglarized: The Marathon gas station on Millers Run Road was burglarized late Sunday or early Monday, Cecil police said. The burglar entered the building through a side door. Police said the burglar may have had some knowledge of the register, because he knew how to open it. Once it was opened, he removed the cash and left the building. He also cut the power to the security cameras. The burglar wore dark clothing, Carhart-style pants and a mask and gloves. A white, older Crown Victoria was seen in the area, police said. Anyone who might have seen something suspicious is asked to call police at 724-743-0940.
DUI alleged in crash: Jeffrey Coballero-Zavalo, 25, of Canonsburg, faces charges including driving under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly fled on foot from a two-vehicle crash early Sunday on Route 980 near Muse-Bishop Road, Cecil police said. He was found a short time later on North Jefferson Avenue in Canonsburg. Neither he nor the other driver was injured, police said.
House burglarized: A resident of Sunnycrest Drive told Cecil police March 15 that his house was burglarized. He got a call from someone asking to see another house he had for sale. He went to that location, but one showed up. When he returned to his Sunnycrest residence, he discovered the burglar entered by breaking a window.
Boyfriend arrested: Paul William Lutz, 35, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Tuesday night by Monongahela police on a charge of simple assault after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at her Fourth Street apartment. He allegedly grabbed her by the wrist and hair, and dragged her off a bed. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Theft report: Robert Conklin of 4380 Prosperity Pike told state police about 10:30 a.m. March 15 his porch swing had been stolen from his residence, police said Wednesday.
Assault arrest: Dennis Lee Brown Jr., 19, of Oakdale, was arrested Tuesday by Smith police on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He is accused of choking his ex-girlfriend, scratching her neck and pushing her to the ground during a confrontation at a home on Lincoln Street in Joffre. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Vehicle entered: Kimberly Salvini of Washington told city police Tuesday her vehicle was entered and a global-positioning system and loose change were stolen. The vehicle was parked near her home in the 300 block of East Maiden Street.
Woman injured: Michelle E. Kelly, 33, of Clarksville, suffered minor injuries when she swerved her car to avoid striking a deer and her vehicle then struck a utility pole on Lone Pine Road near Pine Run Road about 7:35 a.m. Monday, state police said.
