Greene County Court Cases
The following criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County Judge Louis Dayich:
Edward James White II, 44, of 905 Mapletown Road, Greensboro; offenses – simple assault; he grabbed a woman by her arm Aug. 3 outside the woman’s Maple Street home in Monongahela Township; sentence – two years of probation; $500 in fines; 100 hours of community service.
Joshua Franklin Davis, 30, of 200 Kuran Road, Carmichaels; offenses – aggravated harassment by prisoner and harassment; on Aug. 21, he struck and spit on a correctional officer at Greene County jail where Davis had been an inmate; sentence -1 to 5 years in Greene County jail; $300 in fines; 100 hours of community service.
Daniel Mark Teagarden Jr., 39, of 139 4th Street Clarksville; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, habitual offenders, and multiple summary traffic violations; on Jan. 2, 2016, Teagarden was arrested for DUI at his residence where police followed his vehicle; his blood-alcohol content was 0.238; sentence – 60 days in jail to be served only on weekends to accommodate employment; 14 months of probation; $1,450 in fines.
Jason Alan Smith, 42, of 267 Orndoff Road, Waynesburg; offenses – DUI; on Sept. 30, 2016, police found Smith sitting in his car with it running on South East Street in Waynesburg; his BAC was 0.269; sentence – 3 days to 6 months in jail; $325 in fines; 30 hours of community service.
Robert M. Uphold, 51, of 411 Sherman Ave., Nemacolin; offenses – DUI; on Sept. 9, 2016, police initiated a traffic stop on South Eighty Eight Road in Cumberland Township; Uphold’s BAC was 0.126; sentence – 2 days to 6 months in jail; $300 in fines; 30 hours of community service.
James Michael Gillispie, 27, of Wind Ridge; offenses – possession with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of a controlled substance; on Oct. 22, 2014, Gillispie sold 10 stamp bags of heroin to an undercover detective with the Greene County District Attorney’s Office at High and East streets in Waynesburg; sentence – three years of county intermediate punishment, which includes six days in jail with credit for time served, 84 days of house arrest with opportunities for employment and treatment, and continuing his substance abuse treatment; 75 hours of community service.
Charles Eric Hickman, 44, of 639 Pettit Road, Sycamore; offenses – DUI and summary offenses; on Aug. 28, 2016, police found Hickman inside his vehicle that was stopped in the median of Interstate 79 in Washington Township; his BAC was 0.212; sentence – five years of county intermediate punishment, including 30 days in jail to be served only on weekends; 60 days of alcohol monitoring and house arrest; 100 community service.
Shawn Patrick Nairn, 24, of 138 Rifgon Drive, Canonsburg; offenses – DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; on July 2, 2016, Nairn was stopped by police on Interstate 79 in Washington Township and was found to have 10 Xanax pills and paraphernalia in his vehicle; he also told police he had taken some Xanax before driving; sentence – five years of county intermediate punishment, including 12 days in jail with credit for time served, and 160 days of house arrest with credit for 68 days served; $2,150 in fines; 100 hours of community service.
James Robert Bissett, 47, of 237 March Ave., Nemacolin; plead guilty in two different cases; 2015 offenses – disorderly conduct; on Sept. 17, 2015, Bissett sold an Oxycodone pill for $7 to a confidential informant for police at his former residence on Roosevelt Avenue in Nemacolin; 2016 offenses – resisting arrest; On Nov. 30, 2016, police attempted to arrest Bissett on a warrant at his residence, but he resisted; sentence – 41 days in jail to 18 months with credit for 41 days served; 80 hours of community service.
Tamara Judith Stoken, 41, of 450 Adele Drive, Irwin; offenses – possession of drug paraphernalia; on Aug. 6, 2016, Stoken was visiting SCI Greene prison when she was searched and found to be in possession of two empty stamp bags and a hypodermic needle; sentence – six months of probation; $300 in fines; 60 hours of community service.
Kelsy Marie Kashycki, 26, of 136 Pershing Blvd., Nemacolin; offenses – disorderly conduct; on Aug. 7, 2015, she sold two Oxycodone pills for $10 to a confidential informant to police at her residence; sentence – one year of probation; 50 hours of community service.
Jesse William Patterson, 29, of 52 Wood St., Waynesburg; offenses – possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct; on Oct. 10, 2016, police found Patterson on East Cherry Avenue in Waynesburg, with a belt around his arm like a tourniquet and blood coming from his hand; police also found a hypodermic needle in a sweatshirt belonging to him; sentence – one year and three months of probation; 150 hours of community service.
Chassidy Dawn Barr, 36, of 1279 Montrose Ave., Morgantown, W. Va.; offenses – possession of drug paraphernalia and summary offenses; on Oct., 11, 2016, police conducted a traffic stop at 157 Locust Ave., in Perry Township, and found Barr to be in possession of marijuana and smoking bowls; sentence -one year probation; $525 in fines; 50 hours of community service.
