Police Beat March 25
Man charged: Robert Erin Jones, 45, of 327 Route 906, Rostraver Township, is charged by Carroll police with theft over allegations he accepted $221 in January 2016 for lawn care services from a resident of the 1,300 block of Country Club Road and never performed the work, court records show. Jones is in Westmoreland County jail on $100,000 bond stemming from a string of other such allegations in the Mon Valley. District Judge Mark Wilson set Jones’ bond at $5,000 Friday in the Carroll Township case.
Man jailed: Adam L. Mondine, 38, of 39 Laurel Hill Road, was placed in Washington County Jail Thursday in connection with a domestic altercation in which he allegedly restrained a woman in his bedroom and kitchen. Cecil police filed charges of unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment. Mondine was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and jailed on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing before District Judge Traci McDonald is scheduled for April 6.
Window broken: A woman reported to Washington police that the driver-side window of her vehicle was shot out with a BB gun while the vehicle was parked Thursday in the 200 block of Duncan Avenue.
Harassment citation: Eva Gilber, 49 was cited for harassment by Washington police for allegedly repeatedly calling, texting and showing up at the residence of Raieleesa Ptomey.
Assault charges: Richard E. Kerns, 65, of 395 Donnan Ave., Washington, was placed in Washington County Jail Thursday on charges of criminal attempt and simple assault. According to Washington police, Kerns struck a woman in the ribs and face, causing injuries and a chipped tooth, inside his home. He allegedly tried to forcibly remove her pants. Kerns was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and was placed in jail on $30,000 bond. A preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger is scheduled for April 5.
