Donora police arrest two on drug, weapons charges
Two Donora residents were arrested Sunday morning by borough police after officers found guns and suspected cocaine while answering a domestic call on Castner Avenue.
Alvin Earl Youngblood, 41, of 468 Eighth St., and Jasmen E. Gallmore, 40, of 525 Castner, were taken into custody after police were called about 2:45 a.m. to Gallmore’s home. When police arrived, Youngblood was seen leaving the home. Police said he was intoxicated and agitated, yelling obscenities. He denied hitting Gallmore.
While police were talking with Gallmore, they learned a caller to 911 reported hearing the sound of a gunshot coming from the area of 525 Castner during the domestic. While police were trying to diffuse the situation, Youngblood reportedly started screaming threats, telling a resident of the area he was going to harm him.
Police found a bag of suspected cocaine and a bag of suspected marijuana on Youngblood when they took him into custody.
While speaking with Gallmore, police could see a plastic bag on the living room floor and loose marijuana on a couch. Police could also see the grip of an AR-style rifle on the couch. They also saw a bracket and barrel of a rifle next to the couch. Police determined the rifle was a HiPoint Model 995. The grip of the rifle was covered in blood. Youngblood told police he would do 20 years in prison for the gun to protect his children from drug users who may break into his house.
A witness reported seeing Youngblood exit a car parked in front of the house with the rifle and threaten Gallmore. Police later found a live, 9 mm round in front of Gallmore’s home.
Police obtained a search warrant from District Judge Joshua Kanalis. Inside the house, police found another live 9 mm round along with a box of 9 mm ammunition, paraphernalia, two bags of suspected cocaine and a revolver. They also found mail addressed to Youngblood and Gallmore at that residence.
Both were arraigned before Kanalis on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and persons not to possess firearms. Youngblood is also charged with terroristic threats. Both were placed in Washington County jail on $250,000 bond. They are scheduled for April 6 preliminary hearings before District Judge Mark Wilson.
