Judicial candidate forum to be held
The League of Women Voters of Washington County has joined with the Washington County Bar Association to hold a nonpartisan forum for Washington County Court of Common Pleas judicial candidates in the November municipal election. The forum will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 12 at the Doubletree Meadow Lands. The forum is free and open to the public and registration is not requested.
Five candidates have filed for the position. Judges are elected for 10-year terms to the court. The candidates on the ballot for the May 16 primary are Kristen A. Clingerman, Joyce Hatfield-Wise, Charles E. Kurowski, Phillippe A. Melograne and Brandon P. Neuman. The discussion at the forum will be facilitated by a moderator, with candidates to answer questions prepared in advance by the League and the Bar Association. Questions will not be permitted from the floor during the forum.
In preparing for the primary, voters can check the League of Women Voters of Washington County nonpartisan Voters Guide. The guide will be published in several Washington County papers the week of May 9 and will include information from candidates. The guide will also be online at washingtoncountypalwv.org for voters to check at their convenience.
