Police Beat May 5
Hit-and-run crash: State police said a person driving a pickup truck ran a stop sign at Reservoir Hill Road and Eighth Street in Morgan Township about 5:50 p.m. Monday and crashed into another pickup. Police said the driver left the scene, but troopers located the vehicle at the address it was registered to. Police did not identify the driver of either vehicle or say if anyone was injured.
Receiving stolen property: Jeffery Allen Wiestling, 36, of Middletown, Dauphin County, was charged by state police with receiving stolen property, following an incident early Monday morning on East Greene Street in Waynesburg. Police said Wiestling was a passenger in a car that had been reported stolen out of Dauphin County. Wiestling was one of three people in the car. Teresa and Matthew Barth, both of 304 Jennings Ave., Waynesburg, were charged earlier this week with receiving stolen property.
