Liberty Bridge to close this weekend
The Liberty Bridge in Pittsburgh will be closed Friday night through Monday morning, weather permitting.
The bridge will be closes to traffic in both directions from 8 p.m. Friday continuously through 5 a.m. Monday. Crews will do deck reconstruction work.
The outbound Liberty Tunnel and PJ McArdle Roadway will remain open the entire weekend. A single lane will remain open in the inbound Liberty Tunnel, with traffic only able to turn right onto PJ McArdle Roadway.
There also will be traffic stoppages of 10 minutes or less as needed on the Parkway East (Intestate 376) in both directions during the entire weekend as a precautionary measure while deck reconstruction occurs. The restrictions will occur in the area of the Liberty Bridge between the Fort Pitt Bridge and the Oakland/Forbes Avenue off-ramp in the eastbound direction and between the Second Avenue and Grant Street interchanges in the westbound direction.
