Police beat May 19
Drug charges: Amanda Rae Terry, 28, of Weirich Avenue, Canton, was arrested Wednesday by state police on a warrant stemming from an April 9, 2014, traffic stop in Canton. Police said they found her with suspected marijuana when she was stopped. Terry was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and traffic violations. She was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Charged in traffic stop: Kerry Lynn Martin Jr., 24, of McKeesport, was arrested Wednesday by state police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, driving under the influence and traffic violations after he was stopped on Interstate 70 eastbound near the Charleroi off ramp. Police said he was going 72 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Assault, endangerment charges: Harvey Jay, 55, of 51 Tennis Court, Fredericktown, was arrested Wednesday by East Bethlehem police on three counts each of reckless endangerment and simple assault and one count each of harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of trying to jump out of a vehicle while a woman was driving with two children in the car after police were called to his home for a domestic dispute. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
Unauthorized use charge: Charles P. Thompson Jr., 37, of 509 Jackson St., Monongahela, was arrested Wednesday by Monongahela police on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving under suspension after he allegedly took another man’s vehicle without permission. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and released on his own recognizance.
Flags, signs stolen: An employee of Great Clips, Old Mill Boulevard, told South Strabane police Wednesday 20 signs and flags were stolen from outside the business.
Burglary investigated: Dale Christopher of Washington discovered plastic pipe worth $400 missing from his vacant property on West Katherine Avenue about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, city police said. The house was entered by breaking a basement window.
Strangulation arrest: Logan Bosnyak, 22, of 30 Hedge St., West Bethlehem, was arrested Wednesday by state police after he allegedly assaulted and choked a relative at their home the previous day. When the alleged victim fled to a neighbor’s home, Bosnyak allegedly got in his pickup truck naked and drove to the neighbor’s home. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of strangulation, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
