Canonsburg Memorial Day events scheduled for Monday
Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department, along with Canonsburg, Houston and Strabane Veterans Council, will present Memorial Day services and a parade Monday.
Opening ceremonies begin at 8:15 a.m. at Canonsburg Middle School, followed by the parade commencing at East Pike Street (Canonsburg Municipal Building) and Greenside Avenue, proceeding to Bluff Street.
Additional services will follow the parade at Oak Spring Cemetery, with guest speaker Washington County President Judge Katherine Emery. There also will be remarks by Mayor David H. Rhome and a benediction by the Rev. Donald Austin.
