Paraphernalia charge: Austin McCartney, 23, of 935 W. Chestnut St., was charged Thursday with possessing drug paraphernalia by summons from District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office. Police responded to a report of a home invasion at McCartney’s address March 29. McCartney said he’d been in the attic and heard two or three voices downstairs and “foot stomps coming upstairs,” but police found no one else in the house. While checking the house, police allegedly found a black scale, metal spoon, razor blade and a “corner baggie” – all with white residue on them in plain view in the living room.

Trespassing charge: Kevin Bruce, 39, who is listed in court papers as homeless, was charged with criminal trespass and possessing paraphernalia Friday by summons from District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office. Police responded to a report of an “unknown male” in an apartment on West Chestnut Street on March 24. Bruce claimed to be working for a contractor and said he was there to finish the bathroom floor, but police said they learned he been fired two weeks earlier. Police said Bruce reportedly was thrown out of his house by his girlfriend, and they allege he had entered the West Chestnut apartment through a rear window. Police said he had two syringes in a pocket.

Drug charges: Sandra L. Sheppard, 34, of 48 South St., was charged Friday with drug possession and drug possession with intent to deliver by summons from District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office. Sheppard allegedly admitted to delivering a substance police described as “heroin/fentanyl” on Dec. 1 to an unidentified man who overdosed the next day.
