Carmichaels man arrested for stabbing man in East Bethlehem
A Carmichaels man was arrested early Tuesday by Centerville police after he allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old Waynesburg man sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked near Ten Mile Park in East Bethlehem Township.
Andrew Dalton King, 24, of 178 Maple St., is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Police were called to the area of the park about 1 a.m. for a report of a stabbing and were given a description of the suspect. When police arrived, Travis Gilblom was bleeding profusely and being attended to by ambulance personnel. Gilblom was taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.
A passenger in the car with Gilblom identified the stabber as King. Police went to King’s home but were initially not able to find him.
Centerville police Lt. Dan Gaso said the three had been at Ozy’s Bar in Pitt Gas, Greene County. King reportedly left the bar and started walking.
“There was no argument or anything,” Gaso said. “It started raining, so the other two took a ride to see it they could find him and give him a ride home.
“When they found him, King reportedly reached inside the vehicle and started stabbing the victim with no warning,” Gaso added.
Gaso said King later returned to his home and was taken into custody.
California police and the state police forensic unit assisted at the scene.
King was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond. He is scheduled for a Nov. 13 preliminary hearing before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
