Man charged with Deemston drug dealing now charged with woman’s overdose death
A Philadelphia man who formerly lived in Deemston Borough has been charged with distributing heroin and fentanyl that led to the death of a Washington County resident.
Michael Martin, 34, also is accused of distributing cocaine from a home at 2430 Martindale Road, Deemston, between August and December 2016.
State police allege Martin supplied the heroin and fentanyl that caused the death of Stacey Greenawalt, 30, Dec. 6 of last year.
She was found dead in a downstairs bathroom at her father’s home in Fredericktown. Nearby were an uncapped needle and syringe, a spoon containing suspected heroin residue and three tiny, glassine bags stamped with a green dollar sign.
Greenawalt’s father said his daughter had been an addict for the past several years. An autopsy and toxicological tests determined she died from a combination of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine.
Martin also was charged with possessing materials used to weigh and package heroin and, as a felon convicted of robbery and aggravated assault, unlawfully possessing a firearm.
Evidence seized when state police executed a search warrant at the Martindale Road residence Dec. 8, 2016, included stamp bags with a green dollar sign. They also confiscated a cellphone and at least $1,200.
Martin is an inmate in Washington County jail.
