Florida man sentenced for using counterfeit credit cards at outlet stores

A Florida man, accused of conspiracy, was sentenced in federal court to three years of probation, according to a news release issued by U.S. Attorney Soo Song of the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Jeisy Camejo-Escandell and co-defendant Gean Carlos Del Valle-Barquin, 39, of Droal, Fla., were charged after they allegedly schemed to use counterfeit credit cards to purchase items at outlet stores in Washington County and Grove City in June 2015.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Del Valle-Barquin arrived in Pittsburgh June 25, 2015, and purchased the items June 26. The Western Pennsylvania Financial Crimes Task Force conducted the investigation.

Four months of Camejo-Escandell’s probation will include home detention. Both defendants will have to pay $14,993 in restitution.
