Monongahela police arrest Brownsville man on strangulation, drug charges
A Brownsville man was arrested Sunday by Monongahela police on strangulation, assault and drug charges after he allegedly choked his girlfriend during a confrontation at their home.
Quinton Brown, 25, of Pine St., is also accused of choking and assaulting Brittany Allen on several other occasions in the last several months.
Police were called by Allen, who told them Brown reportedly became upset because she told him she did not want him or his drugs at her home any longer. Brown reportedly grabbed her by the shoulders and started shaking her. He then allegedly choked her, almost causing her to lose consciousness.
Allen told police he left her home and she came to the station to report the assault. She then told police he punched her in the face and choked her in June. He also allegedly held an assault rifle to her head and threatened to kill her in September. Brown is also accused of choking and punching her in October. Allen also showed police photographs taken of her after an alleged assault earlier this month.
Police were given permission by Allen to search her Chess Street home. Inside a cabinet in a baby’s room, police found a white plastic bag containing 500 stamp bags of suspected heroin.
Brown was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on four counts each of strangulation and simple assault and one count each of person not to possess a firearm, terroristic threats, possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and attempted aggravated assault. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond. Brown is scheduled for a Nov. 27 preliminary hearing before District Judge Curtis Thompson.
