CHARLEROI
Forgery charges: Charleroi Regional police on Monday charged Robert L. Prinkey, 55, of Washington Avenue, with forgery, trademark counterfeiting and tampering with records or identification. Police allege Prinkey tried to use a fake $100 bill at the Gulf station on McKean Avenue a day earlier, according to court papers. Prinkey is free on $5,000 unsecured bond set by District Judge Traci McDonald.
SOUTH STRABANE
Identity theft: A man reported to South Strabane police Wednesday that his credit card was used to make a fraudulent purchase totaling $2,437 at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Strabane Square.
WASHINGTON
Stolen car: City police arrested Matthew J. Hill, 34, of Lackawanna, N.Y., on a receiving stolen property charge after finding him asleep in the driver seat of a car stolen in Hill’s hometown. Officers encountered Hill when they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Meadow Avenue about 3 a.m. Friday. Hill is in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Traci McDonald.
