Charleroi police arrest 2 in assault, stabbing

Charleroi Regional police arrested a boyfriend and girlfriend in the assault and stabbing of a man inside a McKean Avenue home early Friday.
Police said Jamila Yolanda Toure, 26, and Markinus Nyenpan Kabbah, 27, both of 920 McKean Ave., are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment for a 2:40 a.m. attack on Eddison Harris inside the home all three shared.
Harris told police he had just walked into his Charleroi home when Kabbah approached him in an aggressive manner. Kabbah allegedly started punching Harris in the face, head and body, while Toure, who police identified as Kabbah’s girlfriend, approached the two men holding a knife, police said. She allegedly stabbed Harris on the left side of his head. Harris suffered at least one puncture wound, police said. He was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police said Toure works with Harris. Court documents provided no motive for the alleged assault.
Toure and Kabbah were arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County jail on $100,000 bonds. They are scheduled for an Oct. 19 hearing before Hopkins.
