Hit-run alleged: A Washington man was injured in what state police describe as a hit-and-run incident near the Canonsburg exit of Interstate 79 around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30. Police said a vehicle driven by Matthew Gardner, 31, was struck by a black car on the southbound side of the highway north of the exit, but when Gardner pulled off the ramp to exchange information, the other motorist continued on I-79. Canonsburg EMS transported Gardner to Washington Hospital, but the extent of his injuries is not known. Police described the fleeing driver as a white male, about 45 years of age and wearing a red hat. They are asking anyone with information to call 724-223-5200.

Counterfeit case: Someone used a counterfeit $20 bill at the Sunoco service station, 437 Route 519, Sept. 13, according to state police.

Theft: State police have a suspect who, they say, stole multiple items from a residence at 2930 Park Ave., then pawned them at EZ Cash Pawn. Police said the suspect entered the home through unlocked living room windows between 1:45 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 19 and took a television and TV power cords, remotes and 3-D glasses.
