Police Beat Oct. 10

Underage, disorderly charges: Kevin Christopher Cunius, 20, of Cranberry Township, will be charged by California police with underage drinking and disorderly conduct after he allegedly urinated in public and was drinking an alcoholic beverage in the early hours of Oct. 1.
DUI alleged in crash: Carol Martinez, 74, of 129 Greenside Ave., Canonsburg, will be charged by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said she crashed into a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Greenside about 10:40 p.m. Thursday.
Purse stolen: Rebecca Page of 50 Third St., Westland, told Canonsburg police Thursday her purse was stolen from the checkout line at Shop ‘n Save on West Pike Street.
Equipment stolen: David DiTullio told Canonsburg police Friday a drill and generator were stolen from his garage at 225 Barr St. He told police the generator had been chained to a bench.
Driver injured: Dominic Stewart, 19, of Oakdale, was injured Sunday night when his vehicle crashed into a hillside at the intersection of Chartiers Run Road and Ridge Avenue when he failed to negotiate a curve, Chartiers police said. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment of a minor head injury.
Three-vehicle crash: Ryan Zeigler, 33, of 11 Wilmont Ave., East Washington, was injured in a three-vehicle crash just before 5 p.m. Thursday on Franklin Farms Road near West Chestnut Street. North Franklin police said Zeigler was attempting to make a left turn from northbound Franklin Farms into a parking lot when his vehicle and a southbound vehicle driven by Mark Zanol, 65, of 180 Hathaway Road, Claysville, collided. Zeigler’s vehicle then spun into a stopped vehicle driven by Brian Stewart, 45, of 1229 W. Wylie Ave., Canton Township. Ziegler was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Trespass charge: Timothy Jay Walker Jr., 24, of 138 Main St., Claysville, was charged by North Franklin police with criminal trespass after he allegedly was at his parents’ Park Avenue home without permission on Friday.
Burglary attempt: The glass front door of Uni-Mart, 500 N. Main St., was broken about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in an apparent burglary attempt, Washington police said. A witness reported seeing a thin white man running back and forth from an alley to the front of the store. Police checked the area but were not able to locate a suspect.
Threatening letter: Latoya Shaw told Washington police Friday she received a threatening letter from her former husband, who is an inmate at SCI-Huntington, in which he allegedly threatened to harm her and a friend. Prison officials were notified.
Card information accessed: Frances Clay of Jefferson Avenue told Washington police information from her credit card was used to make $745.05 in purchases in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Misuse of 911 charge: Bertram Mitchell, 61, of 473 E. Hallam Ave., will be charged by Washington police with misuse of 911 after allegedly making calls to the dispatch center Sunday.
