Greene County electronic recycling collection to be held today
An electronic recycling collection will be held from noon to 3 p.m. today at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
Items that will be accepted free include computers, laptops, monitors, printers, components, videocassette recorders, cameras, telephones, electronic cables, games, audio, video and testing equipment and calculators.
There will be a $1 charge for each fluorescent bulb, and a $15 charge for each item with Freon.
Televisions will be accepted free, though residents are asked to limit disposal to one per car for each collection event. Disassembled cathode-ray televisions will not be accepted.
Other items that will not be accepted include sweepers, hair dryers, small kitchen appliances, speakers, regular light bulbs, alkaline batteries, smoke detector, manuals, Styrofoam and VCR tapes, software and compact discs.
The event is sponsored by the Greene County commissioners and state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson.
