Cops: Mom claims daughter was choked, hit teacher with brick

PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Pittsburgh woman who claims an elementary school teacher choked her daughter while disciplining the girl has been charged with following the teacher after school, hitting her with a brick then pulling the teacher from her car and beating her.
Twenty-nine-year-old Daishonta Williams was charged Thursday with stalking, reckless endangerment, making terroristic threats and aggravated assault.
Police say Williams and her boyfriend, who isn’t charged, followed 46-year-old Janice Watkins’ vehicle as she left Pittsburgh King PreK-8 Wednesday afternoon.
Watkins told police she was stopped at an intersection when Williams threw a brick, striking her in the face, before beating her. The teacher is recovering from facial injuries.
Pittsburgh school officials said they are “deeply troubled” by the attack, but declined comment on its particulars.
Williams doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records.
