BENTLEYVILLE
Hindering, drug arrest: James A. Ambrose, 40, of 29 Meadow Drive, Bentleyville, was arraigned Monday on charges of hindering apprehension, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia filed by Bentleyville police after he allegedly was found with suspected narcotics when borough police and Washington County Drug Task Force detectives went to his home Aug. 11 to serve a warrant on another man. Ambrose also was charged by borough police with seven counts of bad checks and one count of theft stemming from a Sept. 27 incident. He was released from Washington County Jail Tuesday after posting $7,000 bond.
CANONSBURG
Driver injured: Amelia Kramer, 76, of Canonsburg, was injured Tuesday when her vehicle crashed into a parked car owned by Eric Lander of McMechen, W.Va., in a parking lot in the 10 block of East Pike Street, Canonsburg police said. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
CARROLL
Threats at hospital: Nicholas James Murphy, 35, of 184 Morton St., New Eagle, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant obtained by Carroll police stemming from an Oct. 12 incident at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Police were called to the hospital for a report of a violent patient. He is accused of threatening police along with his mother and being combative. Murphy was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on five counts of terroristic threats, two counts of reckless endangerment and one count each of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
CHARLEROI
Resisting arrest charge: Marvin Jordan, 41, of 936 Leeds Ave., Monessen, was arrested Tuesday by Charleroi Regional police for allegedly running from police as they tried to take him into custody on a bench warrant after spotting him going into a store in the 500 block of Fallowfield Avenue. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension. Jordan was placed in Washington County Jail on $1,000 bond.
Charged over crash: Donald Kendall, 61, of 1003 Lower Crest Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with failure to stop and render aid, reckless driving, accidents involving damage and driving without a vehicle registration, court records show. Police accuse Kendall of fleeing after his vehicle struck another driven by Jimmy Cocchiara about 12:45 p.m. Sunday in 500 block of Fallowfield Avenue. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the case via summons Wednesday.
CHARTIERS
Burglary: A resident in the 500 block of North Main Street in Houston reported to Chartiers Township police Saturday afternoon that someone entered his home through an unlocked front door and stole several tools, and firearms and money from a gun safe.
House fire: Chartiers Township police assisted the township’s volunteer fire department with a house fire Sunday afternoon at 90 Johnston Hill Road. Police reported that no one was inside the home, where a pile of papers was burning in the basement, filling the residence with smoke. Police said a state fire marshal is investigating.
HOUSTON
Assault, threat charges: Robert Albert Kuntch, 23, of 215 E. Grant St., Houston, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge David Mark on two counts of harassment and one count each of terroristic threats and simple assault filed by state police stemming from an incident at his home Sunday. Police said he allegedly grabbed his mother by the neck and also grabbed his girlfriend. He also allegedly threatened to blow everyone up. Kuntch was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
MONESSEN
Burglary case: Brandon James Wergin, 27, of 1005 Lower Crest Ave., Charleroi, is charged by city police with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief, court records show. Police accuse Wergin of breaking into a residence in the 1,100 block of Dennis Avenue through a kitchen window and stealing a can of soda pop and a bag of candy about 1:10 p.m. Oct. 16. Police filed the charges Monday before District Judge Joseph Dalfonso. Wergin is in Westmoreland County jail on similar charges filed recently by Monessen police.
Assaults alleged: Timothy A. Kershaw, 31, of 1436 Walnut Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. He is accused of striking Candace Wade Oct. 20 and 21 at his residence. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Monday for Kershaw’s arrest.
Charges filed: Randal Philip Carlson, 30, of 104 N. Sixth St., Youngwood, is charged by city police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Carlson of striking Stephen Martello in the head about 11:55 p.m. Saturday at 30 Knox Ave. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges via summons Tuesday.
NORTH CHARLEROI
Assault alleged: Andrew Armbruster, 40, of 514 Short St., North Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with simple assault and harassment over accusations he pushed Jamie Rigdon, causing her to fall and strike her head about 7:15 p.m. Oct. 20 at his residence, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges in a summons Wednesday.
NORTH STRABANE
Robbery arrest: Victor Michael Panico, 27, of Morgantown, W.Va., was arrested Monday by state police at The Meadows Casino, Racetrack Road, North Strabane, on charges of robbery and theft after he allegedly grabbed a $20 bill from a woman’s hand as she attempted to put the money into a slot machine. Police said he was seen on surveillance video. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Two charged: Clinton Louis Roberts, 34, of 791 Baker Hill Road, Washington, and Jessica Lynn McLaughlin, 40, of 240 Sunset Boulevard, Washington, were arrested Monday by South Strabane police in connection with an incident that afternoon at Motel 6, 1283 Motel 6 Drive. Roberts is charged with hindering apprehension and false reports. McLaughlin is charged with false identification and false reports. Roberts is accused of giving police incorrect information about McLaughlin. She also allegedly gave police an incorrect name. They were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bonds.
Purses stolen: Employees of Michael Kors at Tanger Outlets told South Strabane police Tuesday that two thin black men wearing beanies grabbed 10 Michael Kors purses and ran from the store. The purses are valued at $3,780, police said.
WASHINGTON
Harassment: A 47-year-old man who lives in the 600 block of Addison Street reported to Washington police that his 18-year-old son harassed him about 7:30 p.m. Monday at their residence. The man told police that when he asked his son about missing school, his son allegedly punched the door and walls and broke glass in the house. Police said the son also allegedly threatened to throw a brick through his father’s car window. Police said they expect to file a harassment charge, and advised the man to evict his son and get a protection-from-abuse order against him.
Harassment: A North College Street woman reported to Washington police that about 7:25 p.m. Monday, her 33-year-old male neighbor was pounding on her door, which has been an ongoing issue. Police have a suspect and expect to file a harassment citation.
Assault reported: A 33-year-old woman who resides at Jollick Manor reported to Washington police that a 50-year-old man who is her neighbor struck her in the face just after 7 p.m. Monday at her residence. Police said the man was at her home to “see his son,” but when the woman asked him to leave, he allegedly hit her in the face, knocking her glasses off. Police said that after they arrived, the man started yelling and refused to leave. Police said they took the man into custody and later released him. It is unknown if charges will be filed.
Harassment charges: Dylan Flynn, 23, and Phoenix Watson, 18, both of 38 W. Walnut St., were cited by Washington police with harassment following an incident just after 6 p.m. Monday at Family Dollar on Highland Avenue. Police said Flynn had followed Watson from their home to the store, taunting her “relentlessly,” before she charged at him and knocked him down.
Cellphone stolen: David Scholoto told Washington police Tuesday that his Samsung Galaxy 8 cellphone was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked near his home in the 1300 block of Allison Avenue. He told police that he saw a white man with long hair and wearing a dark jacket close to the door of his vehicle before the man left the area on foot with a woman in the direction of Henderson Avenue.
