Chartiers woman charged in underage drinking party

A tip called into the 911 dispatch center after a person spotted information on social media that an underage drinking party may have been happening at a Chartiers Township home resulted in two teenagers being sent to a local hospital after they were found highly intoxicated.
Tammy Jean Bryan, 54, of 237 Valley Road, Canonsburg, was charged Friday by township police with five counts each of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children for allegedly hosting the Oct. 14 party at her home.
Police said the 911 center reportedly received a message about the party and notified officers. When police arrived, young people reportedly started running from the residence. A 15-year-old girl was found unconscious and a 14-year-old boy was found highly intoxicated. Both were taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
The teens had been consuming alcoholic beverages, police said. Six teenagers, including two, 15-year-old Houston girls;a 15-year-old Washington girl; a 16-year-old Canonsburg girl; a 14-year-old Houston boy and a 15-year-old Canonsburg boy were each charged with underage drinking.
The charges against Bryan were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark. She is scheduled for a Nov. 14 preliminary hearing before Mark.
