Tenant rights to be discussed

A program on landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities is planned for noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the fourth-floor conference room of Blueprints, formerly known as Community Action Southwest, at 150 West Beau St., Washington.

Topics to be discussed include services available to secure and maintain housing and warranty of inhabitability, which means rental units must be maintained in a safe and livable condition.

“No lease agreement can sign away this legal responsibility,” said Brian Gorman, executive director of with Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Services, which is co-hosting the forum with Blueprints.

Registration is not required, therefore walk-ins are welcome.

Tenants who are have household income not exceeding 125 percent of federal poverty guidelines and who need legal advice or representation may contact Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Services , 10 West Cherry Ave., Washington, at 724-225-6170, or the Greene County office at 63 S.
