A California woman was arrested Thursday by borough police after she allegedly had inappropriate contact with children inside her California Terrace home earlier this summer.

Deonnia Paxton, 33, of Zulu Street, is charged with two counts each of corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors and one count each of open lewdness and indecent assault.

Police received a report Aug. 2 of indecent exposure allegedly involving Paxton and a 13-year-old boy. The boy told police he was at her home June 15 when she gave him an alcoholic beverage. She then allegedly grabbed him by the shirt and took him to her bedroom, where she tried to get him to lie down with her.

A 14-year-old girl told police Paxton gave her, the same 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl an alcoholic beverage on that same date. Police said the girl also told them Paxton grabbed the boy by his shirt and took him upstairs, and the boy told her Paxton tried to have sex with him.

Paxton also is accused of lifting her shirt, exposing herself to the girls. Police said the 13-year-old girl relayed the same version of the incident to them during a forensic interview.

Paxton was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Monday morning before Kanalis.
