Shober seeks wheelchairs for vets’ trip
Washington County Commissioner Harlan Shober is looking for people who are willing to donate or lend wheelchairs to be used by veterans taking a bus to Washington, D.C., to see veterans memorials.
The group known as Honor Flight Pittsburgh will be transporting a large number of veterans from Washington County on Saturday, Oct. 14, Shober said. The trip is fully booked, and all participants who will need wheelchairs when visiting monuments during the outing don’t have them. Shober asked that those willing to lend or donate wheelchairs contact his office at 724-228-6720.
