Editor’s Note: All charges were dismissed against Craig Allan Martisko during his Dec. 20 preliminary hearing after cell phone records showed he was not in Greene County on the date of the Sept. 5 allegation and his accuser refused to testify.

Charges have been filed against a Morgantown, W.Va., man who allegedly raped a woman at gunpoint Sept . 5 at a home in Waynesburg.

Craig Allen Martisko, 44, of 2902 Halleck Road, was charged Sept. 9 by Waynesburg police with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, rape and robbery. He was arrested on a warrant Sunday in Morgantown and is being held in the North Central Regional jail in Greenwood, W.Va., awaiting extradition, police said.

Police said the alleged victim told them she was awakened by Martisko about 7 p.m. She said Martisko was pointing a black pistol at her and ordered her to take off her clothes. She told police Martisko said if she failed to comply, “I’m gonna blow your brains out,” the criminal complaint said.

Martisko raped the woman while holding the gun to her head, police said. He allegedly told her he was retaliating for another man having had an affair with his wife.

Police said Martisko was startled when he heard a noise in the house. They said he grabbed the woman’s purse, which contained $300, and fled.
