Police Beat Sept. 20

Harassment charge: Samuel Morgan, 62, of Washington, faces a harassment charge after state police said he went to 1500 Amity Ridge Road Monday and struck William Paradise, 35, of Pittsburgh, several times in the head and face.
Driver charged: Randy Vance Johnson Jr., 50, of Toronto, Ohio, was charged Friday by McDonald police with reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of a crash, driving under the influence of alcohol and traffic violations stemming from an Aug. 20 motorcycle crash on School Street in Burgettstown. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Charged in crash: Mariosa Campanelli, 24, of 1574 Smith Township Road, Atlasburg, was charged Monday by Smith Township police with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and traffic violations after her vehicle allegedly hit a guardrail in the 100 block of Bavington Road Aug. 25. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Disorderly, weapons charges: Jarred Lee Barney, 27, of Eighty Four, was charged Monday by state police with having a prohibited offensive weapon, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness stemming from a July 22 disturbance at 84 Lakes Bar, Route 136, Somerset. Police said he had a set of brass knuckles. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Drug charges: Victoria T. Peel, 24, of Washington, was charged Monday by state police with possession of heroin, Xanax, suboxone, marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from a Sept. 7 incident at the intersection of Mounts Road and Clark Avenue, South Franklin. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Harassment charge: April Ann Owens, 42, of 180 McAdams Ave., Washington, will be charged by South Strabane police with harassment for allegedly striking a 21-year-old Washington woman during a confrontation in the parking lot of Old Mill Monday.
Drug charges: Tracey Lamar Washington Jr., 49, no known address, was placed in Washington County jail Tuesday for allegedly selling cocaine during a controlled buy Jan. 29, 2015. According to court documents, a Washington County Drug Task Force agent witnessed a transaction between a confidential informant and Washington in a parking lot on Jefferson Avenue. Washington was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in jail on a $10,000 percentage bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Redlinger Oct. 2.
Perjury charge: Paul Michael Brownlee, 26, of 1815 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was placed in Washington County jail on two charges of perjury filed in connection with alleged parole violations. According to Washington County detectives, Brownlee lied about his location during a probation curfew check July 29 and later admitted he was in Marienville. He also allegedly had contact with a woman with whom Washington County Judge John DiSalle ordered him to have no contact. Brownlee was placed in jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing will be held before District Judge Robert Redlinger Oct. 2.
