Editor’s Note: All charges were dismissed against Craig Allan Martisko during his Dec. 20 preliminary hearing after cell phone records showed he was not in Greene County on the date of the Sept. 5 allegation and his accuser refused to testify.

The Morgantown, W.Va., man accused of raping a woman at gunpoint earlier this month in Waynesburg was extradited from West Virginia and arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

Craig Allen Martisko, 44, was arraigned by Senior District Judge Jesse Cramer on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, rape and robbery, and is being held at the Greene County jail on $50,000 bond.

Waynesburg police said Martisko raped the woman Sept. 5 in a borough home while holding a gun to her head. Police said Martisko later stole the woman’s purse and left.

He was arrested Sept. 9 in West Virginia and had been lodged at the North Central Regional jail in Greenwood, W.Va., while awaiting extradition.

His preliminary hearing before Cramer is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Oct. 2.
