Car clips Crucible Post Office after two-vehicle crash

One person was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Crucible that sent a car careening into the local post office.
A coupe was traveling north on Crucible Road shortly before 9:30 a.m. when an SUV crashed into the rear of the car, sending it spinning around before coming to rest with its crumpled trunk touching the corner of the post office, Cumberland police said.
The driver of that car was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured. Their names were not immediately released.
A post office employee who was inside at the time heard the crash, but was not injured. The building sustained only minor damage to a downspout and metal siding.
Crucible volunteer firefighters, who assisted Cumberland police at the scene, closed the road for about an hour while the wreckage was removed.
