Employees of Canton Township received a jolt Monday morning when a van nearly crashed into the municipal building.
No one was injured in the accident, which occurred about 9 a.m., and the elderly driver of the vehicle declined medical treatment.
State police troopers transported the man from the scene, according to Dave Gump, Canton’s fire chief.
The driver was headed down Grove Avenue and said his feet got tangled up with a tube that was in the van, Gump said. He hit a dumpster, then swerved across the street into bushes outside the municipal building.
