Fire caused moderate damage to Wayne Township home
A fire caused moderate damage Tuesday morning to a single-story house on Hobson Street in Blacksville, Wayne Township.
The Wayne Township and Blacksville, W.Va., volunteer fire departments were called to 120 Hobson St. about 10:20 a.m. No one was at the home when the fire started, said John Brookover, Wayne Township Fire Company president.
The fire started in the basement and is believed to have been caused by an electrical problem. Wiring and some of the floor joists above the basement were damaged, Brookover said.
The names of the owner of the home and the occupant were not immediately available.
