Flash flood watch issued until 4 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flash flood watch for the area.
The watch is in effect until 4 p.m. today. Showers and thunderstorms will bring moderate to heavy rainfall this afternoon with amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible. Because soils are already saturated from previous rainfall, the risk of flash flooding is increased.
Area rivers are also likely to rise as well, according to NWS.
