The Greene County Conservation District will host free workshops for local farmers and livestock owners about writing manure management plans. Those interested must only attend one of the following workshops:

  • Monday, April 9, 6 p.m. at the Greene County Conservation District office.
  • Saturday, April 14, 1 p.m. at the Harvey’s Aleppo Grange.
  • Monday, April 16, 6 p.m. at the Cumberland Township Building.
  • Saturday, April 21, 1 p.m. at the Greene County Conservation District office.

State regulations require farmers whose operations involve applying manure to land, whether by fork, machine or naturally by animal, have a written manure management plan. Registration is required. For information or to register, call the conservation district at 724-852-5278, or e-mail kwright@co.greene.pa.us.
